A Hammock by the Sea

Few things I’ve ever found more pleasing

Than a hammock swayed by ocean breezes

Gently pushed by friendly winds

Cradled rocking without end

Within the porch’s welcome shade

A medley plays of lapping waves

My soul is soothed as slumber calls

Waves arise and softly fall

A seagull circles in the sky

Offers up its plaintive cry

Dreams and prayers on clouds ascend

Cradled rocking without end
